A pet owner in Dayton (Ohio) bought at that time some of this brand dog food for the dogs of his kennel out of curiosity.

The results were so good – both with the appetite of the dogs as with their stools that this pet shop owner voluntarily sent a sample of this dog food to the professional breeders in Kansas with his high recommendations and request to try it out. The results were appreciated as enthusiastically by these professionals as the pet shop owner and they placed the first order of one ton of Eukanuba dog food. By 1973, the brand had been established throughout the country.
